The FACE Research Roundtable, held each year on or about International FASD Day, has become a regular forum for Canadians engaged in medical and social science research related to fetal alcohol and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Since 2000, the annual FACE Roundtable has been held in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Moncton with the help and participation of provincial ministers of health, early childhood development, child and family services and Health Canada. The 8th annual Roundtable is organized by the Motherisk Program in cooperation with Healthy Child Manitoba. Researchers from across Canada share new findings on the neonatal brain, promising FASD screening measures and tools, early opportunities for successful intervention, and community-based research on the prevalence of FASD in a our communities. The Roundtable is attended by clinicians, program providers, community leaders, government representatives and other interested individuals from across Canada.
