Scope
A peer-reviewed, on-line, scientific journal dedicated to the most common preventable cause of mental retardation, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and related
conditions. In addition to the fetal effects of ethanol (alcohol), J FAS Int will also publish studies regarding conditions caused by other gestational exposures, such
as drug abuse, as well as the effects of poverty, discrimination, abuse, and addiction, on the developing unborn, newborn, and his/her family. J FAS Int will inform
readers of new findings published in other journals, or reported at conferences and meetings.
Conflict of Interest
While the Motherisk Alcohol and Substance Use Helpline is sponsored by the Brewers of Canada, this Journal is not. The Journal of FAS International (JFAS) has no relationship with any corporate sponsors. The Motherisk Program of The Hospital for Sick Children as publisher of JFAS, retains editorial control over the content of JFAS. JFAS is independent of commercial funding.
