Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy: State of the Art 2000
(G. Koren, R. Bishai, Eds). The Motherisk Program, 2000edited by Gideon Koren, MD and Raafat Bishai, MD. The Motherisk Program, 2000.

A call for increased attention to Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy (NVP), "morning sickness", was the consensus of a panel of leading world-wide experts at the First International Conference on Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy.
This conference was an important first step in rejecting outdated notions in the medical community about NVP and bringing the potentially serious complications of this medical condition to light. The panel of experts determined that more research was needed on the etiology of NVP, the effect of NVP on pregnancy outcome, and the pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to treat NVP. Volume One of Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy: State of the Art 2000, goes beyond providing the proceedings of the conference. It is the first publication to cover all the issues and outcomes related to this underestimated medical condition.
The event was made possible through an educational grant from Duchesnay Inc., committed to supporting research and education projects aimed at understanding all the aspects and outcomes related to nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.
This book is dedicated to the British literary author Charlotte Brontë, who is said to have died from hyperemesis gravidarum, and to all women who could not benefit from today's safe therapeutic treatments and progressive medical thinking while suffering from nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.
