I have just suffered from hyperemesis and found no relief from the medical community. I was hopitalized twice and both times I had bad reactions to the drugs given. I was given IVs both times to rehydrate me and finally Zofran was given which gave me the slightest bit of relief. I was sent home and continued to vomit. I was unable to tolerate light or sound, reading, television, which left me in a dark room sick. My husband was incredibly compassionate and helpful and much more empathetic than any doctor I encountered. Finally, I decided to terminate the pregancy at 8 weeks. I am curious to know how many women choose this option. My life was not threatened, but I could not live like that for another week let alone 5 more weeks or 7 months. All the things I read on the internet are women who have roughed it out, and I am amazed and I think it makes me feel weak that I could not do the same. I never want to go through that again, therefore my husband and I are planning on looking into adoption. We had been trying to get pregnant for two years and lost one pregancy to miscarriage. Please let me know if I am alone in my choices or just weak.
